Your podiatrist will do a comprehensive assessment of your presenting complaint or condition which may include:

  • The way you walk & stand
  • Your vascular, neurological & dermatological status
  • Your joint range of motion, muscle strength & function in your feet and lower limbs
  • Your activities including work
  • Your footwear & hosiery choices

Upon evaluation of your presenting complaint we will provide the treatment you need & advise you on any changes you may need to make including changes to footwear or incorporating stretching or strengthening areas.

Your podiatrist will assess the condition of the skin of your feet (dermatological status) looking for corns and callus and at the condition of your toenails. They will advise you of the timing of when to cut your nails and if you should get your nails cut regularly by the podiatrist.

At your 1st visit your podiatrist will ask about your general health including any existing or previous conditions or injuries, allergies you may have & the medications you are currently taking. You may find it easiest to contact your GP & ask for a medication list & medical history to bring to the consultation.

We will discuss your treatment plan & needs for reassessment or follow up care. This may be either in the form of ongoing care or until we are certain you have made a full recovery.

If you require a referral to another health professional we can also provide you with a referral, this includes imaging such as x-rays.
