Physiotherapy Specialisation
26 Nov 2015FAQ

Physiotherapy Specialisation in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy is awarded via The Australian College of Physiotherapists.
The Process:
- Entry Level Physiotherapists hold a degree such as a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. This is normally a four year University degree.
- A Masters of Sports Physiotherapy is then completed after working as a Physio and gaining experience, . This is at least a two year degree.
- After obtaining your Masters degree, you can then sit an exam to gain the title of Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist (or Tier two).
A Titled Sports Physiotherapist can then apply to be accepted onto the Australian College of Physiotherapists training programme. This is a challenging two year programme with a facilitator that ends in a weekend of intensive examinations.
The formal description of the Physiotherapy Specialisation process can be found on the APA website.
