Kym McMaster – Physiotherapist

Kym has worked intermittently at Paddington Physiotherapy since early 2012. After graduating from James Cook University in 2010, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Kym worked in private practice with a variety of acute and chronic injuries, nursing home and gym based patients. She was involved in both inpatient and outpatient post-operative rehabilitation and developing gym-based rehab programs for patients.

Kym’s recent work has been primarily in Workplace
Rehabilitation, working with people in a variety of vocational areas (office workers, airlines, mine sites, etc) with ergonomic set ups, workplace OH&S and manual handling training, and suitable duties rosters. She has also worked closely with large corporations, smaller businesses and Workcover/insurers to implement graduated return to work programs and assist with internal OH&S activities. With these skills Kym can assist Workcover patients in early and successful return to work. 

Motor Vehicle Accidents is an area that Kym is able to apply her industry experience to assist to return to optimal function.

Kym enjoys treating cervical spines, shoulders, and lumbar spines with core strengthening and conditioning also of interest. She has completed her APPI Level One Matwork Pilates Course and Workplace Health & Safety Training. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA).

Kym has played variety of sports including touch football, rowing (sweeps and skulls), running and netball throughout school and university.
