Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from University of Queensland in 2008. He started work in the same year in a private practice physiotherapy setting where he has exposure to a wide variety of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sporting injuries.
Paul has a particular interest in assisting Workcover patients in their return to work rehabilitation. He believes in an active return to work approach, & can organise & implement one on one gym & hydrotherapy programs to tailor a therapeutic exercise program to address specific problems on an individual basis.
Shoulder injuries are of particular interest to Paul, especially rotator cuff disorders & post-operative rehabilitation where he corresponds closely with the treating surgeon for best results. He puts a strong emphasis on correcting any associated biomechanical problems to assist in quick recovery & minimise the risk of re injury.
Paul has also done additional training in the Dix-Hallpike manoeuvre in assessment of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), and in the Epley repositioning manoeuvre used for treatment. This treatment technique has a reported 90% success rate in the literature, & can help avoid invasive treatment.
Currently Paul is studying in his second year of Medicine at the University of Queensland, with the goal of specialising to become an orthopaedic surgeon after he graduates.
Due to his university commitments Paul has appointments available in the evenings & on some Saturday mornings.
