Matt Judd – Senior Physiotherapist

Matt has joined the Paddington Physiotherapy team after working for 5 years in private practice in Perth. He originally completed his Bachelor of Science Physiotherapy degree from Curtin in 2009, and has predominantly treated musculoskeletal and sports injuries along with post-operative rehabilitation. Matt has worked in a Women’s hospital in Perth giving him experience treating pregnancy & post-natal conditions such as backpain, sacro-illiac (SI jt) joint pain and wrist pain.

He is very interested in the management of sports injuries, and has worked with a range of semi-professional and amateur sporting teams since graduating, some of these including AFL, Soccer and Gridiron. Matt is very keen to further his knowledge in the field, and in 2013 & 2014 he began studying his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth. He was close to completing this before being offered a place to study Medicine at UQ in 2015 but has completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports). He endeavours to one day become a Sports Physician after completing his Medicine degree which he is currently studying at the University of Queensland.

Outside of his studies Matt plays Aussie Rules Football, and enjoys attending the gym and swimming.  He has previously been a competitive swimmer, as well as completing the Rottnest Channel Swim (20km) in a team on three occasions. This active lifestyle is reflected by his patient management strategies, as Matt is a strong advocate for keeping people as active as possible while they are rehabilitating any injuries.
