David Lipman - Podiatrist and Exercise Physiologist
David graduated with honours from QUT with degrees in both Podiatry and Human Movement Studies. His areas of interest are primarily sports and biomechanics but he also loves paediatrics.
David’s special interest in biomechanics and orthotic therapy and is particular in educating patients about appropriate footwear, for work or school, training and exercise purposes or casual wear, taking into consideration the necessary practicalities of footwear choices.
He is a strong believer in physical therapies as part of his treatment regime, particularly strengthening. Our Podiatrists and Physiotherapists endeavour to keep athletes training to maintain strength and endurance whilst recovering from injuries.
He has a diverse sporting background, having taken part in most team sports whilst growing up. His two major focuses in his sporting career were middle distance running and olympic weightlifting. He has coaching qualifications in olympic weightlifting, athletics and rugby,which are all used in conjunction with his work as a strength and conditioning coach. He aims for early return to exercise and sport.
David has an excellent understanding of the importance of physical activity for people of all ages and lifestyles and is able to integrate lifestyle goals into his management. David advocates monitoring of chronic conditons that affect the foot and mobility and recommends early intervention and general footcare maintenance. He is experienced in the treatment of a variety of nail and skin conditions such as fungal nail infections, nail deformities, cracked heels, ingrown toenails, warts and corns and calluses.
David is actively involved with education as a lecturer for Sports Medicine Australia as well as at QUT in their podiatry program. His role involves Clinical Supervison of the Podiatry students and ensures that he is up to date with the recent research and innovations in Podiatry.
